According to Rome News-Tribune and the Associated Press, bond has been set for Berry College juniors Kelsy “Critter” Dawsey, 19, and Patricia “Buddy” Dawsey, 22, after a hearing on Monday. Their mother, Kathryn “Kit” Dawsey, 54, has been charged with theft and exploitation of a disabled adult, and is being held without bond. Kelsy and Patricia each face similar charges, with their bonds being set at $50,000. All three are being held in the Marion County Jail in Buena Vista, Ga. The three are accused of exploiting a 91-year-old Berry alumnus for money used to pay the girls’ tuition.
