If you find yourself looking for a way to liven up your room or office this Spring, try one of these Mason jar crafts. Mason jars are a cheap but effective way to add some rustic style to your space.
These creative crafts are a few Mason jar ideas gathered from Pinterest. Most of them cost under $15 to make and do not require any previous crafting experience. All of the supplies are available at local grocery, home improvement and craft supply stores.

Date Jar
Supplies:

- Ribbon
- Mason jar
- Craft paint
- Sponge brushes
- Popsicle sticks
- Permanent marker
Instructions:
Paint the jar with a pattern of your choice. Wrap a ribbon around the top of the jar. Paint the tips of the popsicle sticks. Use different colors to represent different types of dates or price ranges. Write date ideas on the popsicle sticks. Choose a date and have fun.
Pencil Holder

- Mason jar
- Craft paint
- Sponge brushes
- Wire mesh with half inch squares
- Wire cutters
- Ribbon (optional)
Instructions:
Remove the metal disc in the middle of the jar’s lid. The lids are made to separate into two pieces, so no tools are required for this step. The piece that removed will now work as a stencil. Using the stencil, trace a circle on the mesh. Use the wire cutters to carefully cut around the circle. Put the mesh circle inside the lid ring and secure the lid on the jar. Paint the jar any color or pattern of your chouse. If you want, you can also wrap a ribbon around the top of the jar just under the lid. The jar will now easily store pencils, cosmetic brushes, toothbrushes and flowers.
Succulent Planters

- Succulent plant
- Potting soil
- Mason jar
- Craft paint
- Sponge brushes
Instructions:
Paint the jars with a pattern or color of your choice. Allow the paint to dry. Once it is dry, put a large handful of potting soil in the jar so the bottom of the plant will be at the top of the jar. Transfer the succulent to the jar.
Rice Lamp
Supplies:

- Food coloring
- Uncooked rice
- Rubbing alcohol
- Plastic storage bag
- Battery operated tea light
Instructions:
Shake the rice, food coloring and rubbing alcohol in the bag until the coloring coats the rice. Pour the rice into the jar and put the tea light in the jar.
