A Berry student is in the Floyd County Jail without bond and has been charged with aggravated sexual battery after a student reported that she was sexually assaulted on campus.

Freshman Anu Tafari Campbell, who is from Lawrenceville, Ga., was arrested at Dana Hall by the Berry College Police Department in the early morning hours on Sunday.

The alleged victim went to Floyd Medical Center to report the assault, and campus police officers were dispatched to the hospital to meet with her.

Campbell, 19, played on the men’s soccer team, according to the Berry College athletics website.

The case is under investigation, according to an incident report from the Berry College Police Department.
