The Vogue: Word (and Image) on the Street


Little noticed are some of the more exotic architectural details up and down Broad Street. Take a minute to zero in on the various pediments, rooftop ornaments, brick and lattice work, and style diversity. When Ginger’s closed up earlier this year at 3rd Avenue and Broad, excavation work revealed what was The Vogue, a long-since defunct boutique with a typeface right out of The Great Gatsby. Work continues to convert the top floors to loft-style apartments. Notice also the Moorish architectural details on the façade’s top – like taking a mini-vacation in Morocco!
