After being tied at halftime, the Vikings missed a last second 3-point shot, resulting in a 83-82 loss to the Hendrix College Warriors Sunday. Berry is currently 7-15 for the year.

The Warriors took an eight point lead with just over 7:30 left in the second half. With both teams collecting 31 of the game’s 41 fouls within the second half, the Vikings were able to stay close behind with a 77 percent free throw average for the game. Sophomore Cory Johnson sank three free throws with six seconds left in the game, making it a one-point game. With a steal by senior Alton McCloud, Berry was able to regain control of the ball to shoot a final second three but missed the mark.

Berry junior Elijah Hirsh set the NCAA Division III record for single-game blocks with 10 blocks in the game. Hirsh was one rebound short of a triple-double with 24 points, 10 blocks and 9 rebounds, leading all-scorers in the game. His blocks were a Berry program record as well.

The Vikings will travel to Danville, Kentucky to play the Centre College Colonels on Feb. 9. The Colonels are 14-7 for the year.
