Bomb Scare at Restoration Rome

Around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, a maintenance worker discovered a suspicious package outside the Restoration Rome Center Services at 1400 Crane St. The package was described as a box that seemed to be donations but was attached to a metal container with wires, according to Maj. Tom Ewing of Floyd County Police.

Restoration Rome released a statement saying Rome City Police secured the area and the bomb squad announced the package was “non-hazardous.” The building opened at 10 a.m.
